Fill Her Up

I love leading workshops with women and recently enjoyed working with a couple of different groups. The first was a group of home-based entrepreneurial women to whom I spoke on the topic of choice. Some of the material I referred to was based on the work of a colleague and author, Kim George. Her book is “Coaching into Greatness”. In it, she talks a lot about how we are great just as we are and how we can begin to make the changes we want when we step into our own greatness.

The next event was an open event for women, where we discussed the importance of really truly loving who we are right now and how true change comes from accepting who we are every step of the way.

Different topics that have essentially the same message; when we recognize our own worth right now in the present, only then can we embrace more great things for ourselves. What I noted was we as women; really have a hard time with that whole notion.

During that first presentation, I could actually see some of the women all successful business owners squirming as I talked about our own greatness until finally I asked how many were uncomfortable thinking of themselves in those terms. At the second event, we had each woman write compliments to herself but I noted each person had her own point where she felt she had written “enough”.

What if you filled yourself by recognizing you strengths, acknowledging your abilities and feeling wonderful about who you are? Would that increase your confidence, your mental energy and your outlook on the world? If you felt great on the inside, how would that affect what you projected on the outside? How would that change your ability to try new things or be of service to others?

Here’s your challenge. Every morning this week, have a look at that fabulous woman in the mirror and fill her up with recognition of how great she is, right there, right now. Tell her what a great day she is about to have just because she is YOU! Fill her up! Treat her like the very best friend you will ever have and just watch where she takes you!
